All the robots at Electric Tales are committed to providing easy to access training to help those wanting to expand their performance portfolio. Or, those who want to learn to swear better (we are very good swearers. Please don’t tell our Mums).
So, in the spirit of this, we have some events coming up to help those interested in comedy storytelling get more confidence.
Saturday 23rd July at the crazy-beautiful Scottish Storytelling Centre
2-5pm, £30/£26 for Network Members
What happens when you cross a comedian and a storyteller? This workshop explores the magical alchemy of comedic tale-telling, stand-up banter and witty yarns. Expect to participate. An Electric Tales collaboration between the Scottish Storytelling Centre and The Stand comedy club, drawing together skills and experiences developed through Electric Tales club nights and performances. Led by comedian, performer and writer Sian Bevan. Open to all storytellers and comedians who want to make narrative comedy.
This is an afternoon for those who already have some performance time under their belt (either as a comedian or storyteller) and who are looking for skill development.
From September we’ll be running a series of monthly open-access workshops at The Beehive Inn, Grassmarket, with guest tutors looking at different aspects of performance. We’ll send out more information at the time but, keep the 28th September in your diaries as the first date.
